Home again, home again, jiggity jig

Perhaps it is time to lay the blog to rest...or at least change the focus (and title) since I am no longer a Londoner but rather a Massachusen (sp?) again.

The United States opened her borders again for my return about three weeks ago. It is a good thing I am not Mexican, I may have been shot by National Gaurd Troops.

Home is a funny thing. I feel like I am at home now, if only in the geographical sense, since I am not actually in the city. Despite my increased appreciation for exploration and discovery, there certainly is something to be said for the familiar. A lot to be said I think.

I saw some friends in the city (Boston that is) this past week and was reminded how good friendship is and how nice it is to have a place where your feet feel comfortable. Where the faces of strangers don't look so unfamiliar because your common ground is your connection with the city and this feeling of home. Maybe we have spoken before, but more likely we have both ignored each other before as we wait to get home to the familiar things in our lives.

I will be starting two years of graduate study in a few months and while I am excited at the prospect of study and the opportunities ahead, the thing that really excites me is the ability to have a landing spot for more than, 8 months, 10 months, or a year at a time.

That is exciting. It is so nice to be home.
